Requirements, as will be discussed in class:

The subject of your site must be one of the following—a historical figure, a religious figure, or a fictional character from a work of literature you studied this school year. All subjects must be approved by me, and cannot be changed once work has begun. Your subject must be selling one or more goods or services on the site.

You must address the following, at a minimum:

Who is the subject? A Bio page.
What good or services are being offered? Include examples.
Where are they located and are services offered?
Hours of operation if a service.
Why customer should purchase from the subject.
Testimonials from satisfied customers.
Contact information.

Include whatever else you feel appropriate for your customer's site. I do expect you to include graphics beyond those provided by the template.

1) The Circuit For College Bound IT Students - The purpose of The Circuit’s scholarships are to assist local students in furthering their IT education at a local college / university. A committee will make a selection from applications received by December 31, 2009. The awardees will be announced in early 2010 and the scholarships (as determined by the committee) will be distributed through the college Financial Aid office for classes beginning in Fall 2010.

2) 2010 NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing - Sponsored by Bank of America, the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing recognizes young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Welcome back gentlemen, to another year of bad puns and good learnin'. I'm looking forward to working with you once again this year!

Things you'll need to get accomplished this week:

Configure Dreamweaver, for both Badin and your personal sites.
Configure Firefox; download and install necessary extensions.
Reacclimate yourselves to your server drives and the Badin drive. On your drive, archive last year's materials into a single folder. Set up whatever folder system you anticipate for your site this year.
Get a simple homepage up for your site. Format using CSS if desired, but keep it simple - I guarantee it will be changed soon. Include links to Badin and BTB. Include all elements of required code, as you learned last year.
Badin site - Start-of-year cleanup. You know, doors jam, windows stick, engine needs a shot of grease... just the typical.
